• Instructional aides in all Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten.

• Screening assessments. We give three major assessments a year for math and reading and many small ones so we can adjust as needed. Student-centered academic groups are created based on assessments.
• Student support team if necessary.
• English as a Second Language (ESL) newcomers get access to Rosetta Stone’s education platform to help with instruction.

A quality education isn’t limited strictly to academics. At our free TK-8 public school, we are committed to exciting enrichments too, like our entrepreneurial program, Ivy Community. While we might not throw out how to figure out tax percentages just yet, our younger students enjoy learning about business like setting up a colorful art shop where they learn some cash register basics (math in action!) and maybe a little understanding of supply and demand?

Learning how to be a good friend, scholar, and leader starts on Day One at our free public elementary school. Ivy Academia uses Character Strong, a Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) program that emphasizes the importance of kindness and finding solutions that work for everyone. Learning good communication skills is key and we teach and model using our words and finding ways to practice self-control. 

As a small and engaged school, we know all of our students by name (and personality!). This familiarity builds confidence as students feel comfortable and supported. We also like to recognize the positive ways our students interact and participate.
