The Homeless and Foster Youth Education Policy includes policies and practices to ensure that homeless and foster youth are not stigmatized or segregated on the basis of their status, a dispute resolution process, and assurances of transportation for homeless and foster youth (under the provisions of the Education for Homeless Children and Youths Act).
Public notice of this policy includes information available on the school website. As part of the annual LAUSD authorized charter oversight, each charter school is asked to provide evidence of their school’s board-adopted policy, in accordance with AB 699. In addition, the board must certify that this policy is in effect to meet federal requirements specified in 42 United States Code 11431 et esq. (Education for Homeless Children and Youths Act) and federal requirements in Title I, Part A of the ESEA.
Ivy Academia Administration has appointed the role of School Counselor, as our Homeless and Foster Youth Liaison certified by its Board of Directors on August 19, 2021. Our counselor may be reached by emailing Haley Vogel [email protected] or calling 818-716-0771 extension 9605 and asking to speak to the School Counselor.
